Across four big days in April 2024, this vibrant village hosts a model making event where you are all invited to build a large-room sized cardboard model of Forest Row, and in turn discuss how we might look after and improve this place we call home.
3D models of cities, towns and villages have been used for many years, to help councils better understand what residents want and what issues might need to be sorted out. It is this approach that is happening in the Community Centre and we would love you to get involved at any level.
Schools, nurseries and community groups are going to kick it off by making their buildings. You could come along and make part of the model too – your house, or some of the trees or a few flowers, part of the Forest Way, even the river.
Everyone can ‘vote’ for what they want for the village, putting flags onto the model and popping what they want into ideas boxes. Everyone is welcome – young and old. You can even put your name down to join with other people and create a community project!
All this knowledge of what people want (and don’t want!) will be collated and summed up, to help us all – individuals and businesses, community groups and Parish Council – better prioritise projects across the village.
